Yard Sign Project!

Thanks for your interest in this project. It's grassroots but with the blessing of the Shrewsbury Board of Alderman as well as the departments of Parks and Public Works. My name is Mike Smick and I wanted to create this yard sign that specifically expressed support of our exceptional Shrewsbury Police and Fire departments. And I wanted to find out if others in my neighborhood might want one too. Then I thought, maybe they would buy one AND it could be a charity project as well.  

I will likely order signs Monday morning, October 15th, 2018. So get your order in BEFORE then.

The final yard sign design is below. It measures 24in wide x 9 inches tall. At $12, it is VERY affordably priced.  The design is low-profile but bold, elegant and very readable. It arrives with a metal wire stand to put into the ground. All of the funds will go to printing and shipping, or to charity. None of the funds will be retained by the project's creator or the City of Shrewsbury.

Proceeds after the cost of printing will go to Backstoppers Organization and the Gateway Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. These are charities that were suggested or given a thumbs-up by residents of the community, Police and Fire Chiefs, and Board of Alderman.  Your sign should arrive before the end of October 2018 unless for some reason we get a last-minute influx of orders. I will send out communications periodically about the status of the signs via email.  I'll be collecting your name, address, phone number and I will give paid orders a receipt with my information on it. Since the payment is going to me rather than say the city, there will be an element of trust involved. But I'm extremely transparent and documenting everything along the way. 

Seen in the photo above are my sign prototypes on display at my Fall Festival table. Note there is just one final design, after the Mayor and Police and Fire Chiefs and BOA looked over the prototypes and everyone picked the best design from the variations I made.

Possibly an officer will place it in your yard, but that is not quite confirmed yet. By the way, you may have noticed in the photo above that the price at $10. This was a festival price. (but to be clear, since it's a charity and community engagement project, anything above printing costs goes to charity anyway. So you are doing a good thing by paying the 'regular' price of $12. =) 

After setting up a table at the fall festival got orders from residents there, I wanted to do a outreach to the residents online before doing the final sign order.  My hopes are you found this page because of my social media ad that I had shared on a couple local facebook pages or it was shared from a friend or relative.
